Transition. That word rolls off the tongue! And, right now, it’s a time of major transitions here at KewlBites and beyond. We’ve just recently overhauled and renovated the site from the ground up — it’s brand new and refreshed, enhancing usability and connectivity. Simultaneously, I’ve also been transitioning to a new stage in my life and academic career — college!
Yikes. It’s a word that has been long foretold and storied, and that bears a lot of weight. College is an intense four years in which we set our sights on future personal and professional goals, and then begin the process of getting there. But, in fact, I’m really excited to be here! I’ve wanted to attend the college I’ve matriculated into, New York University (better known as NYU for short), for years. It’s been a dream destination for me since I first set foot on the campus to receive a walk-through of the NYU curriculum and campus lifestyle, and I was instantly hooked.
I’m enrolled in the Gallatin Institute of Individualized Study, an amazing program that allows you to personalize your own classes and put your unique spin on your study regimen. I would love to delve into broadcast journalism (if you follow my Tweets, chances are, by now, you know that I’m a major news junkie!), international business, and, of course, some classes in nutrition, health, and film/TV production. It’s a big mix, but, just like with any perfect recipe, it’s a balance of flavors that textures that with time, will cook up into a balanced medley of cutting-edge skills and ideas which should open up exciting doors to new, cutting-edge opportunities.
Meanwhile, I’m also transitioning to a new home — New York City. Weather-wise, it’s a big change from my hometown in South Florida, but I’m thrilled! I’ve always loved the Big Apple — it’s the heart of so much fast-paced excitement and cultural diffusion. From Rockefeller Plaza and The TODAY Show to restaurants representing every kind of cuisine from around the globe, I already feel right at home.
That said, I’m always searching for new inspirations and recommendations from YOU guys! Seeing as I’m #New2NewYork, please tweet me, send me a Facebook message, or drop me a line at our email address (email@example.com) to share your favorite must-see’s and must-do’s in New York City. Awesome restaurants? Can’t-miss sites? Local secrets you’d love to share? Let me know — I want to hear about all of them! Include the hashtag #New2NewYork if you plan to reach out via social media, and we might just feature your suggestions front and center here on KewlBites!
