WOW! Can you believe we’re FIVE MONTHS into 2014?! It feels like yesterday that we were watching the ball drop in Times Square and welcoming the beginning of yet another New Year, and just last week that we were crossing over into 2010 and the dawn of a new decade! #TimeFlies — That’s for sure!
Meanwhile, I’ve missed chatting with you guys here! You’ve been keeping me busy answering your emails (thank you!) and loving the KewlBites Cookbook on Twitter (hooray!), but I’ve been on the road nonstop, and I hope you guys have been awesome.
First off, huge thanks for making the KewlBites Cookbook such a tremendous success. From launching live on NBC’s TODAY Show to climbing to the top five on Amazon to winning an incredible award as “Best in the USA” at the upcoming Beijing Cookbook Fair from Gourmand International Magazine, the journey of launching my first cookbook has been unforgettable. I’ve learned so much along the way, not least of which how to pump extra circulation into my hand while wielding my Sharpie at our signings! By the way, those signings have been INSANELY fun… I can’t count how many awesome KewlBites fans I’ve been able to meet! Highlights along the way (though every moment and stop on the tour has been a highlight in its own right) include visit six Market District events, crashing the gyms at schools in multiple states, teaming up with Williams-Sonoma, hosting a huge book signing event with four other distinguished authors at Subway Restaurants’ World Headquarters in Connecticut, making my debut on CBS’ The Talk, covering the lifestyle section of The Chicago Tribune, and inaugurating my blog on The Huffington Post.
The tour has been such a whirlwind and I couldn’t be more grateful to you guys for your huge support online, in stores, and in your kitchens. Our readers have genuinely LOVED the KewlBites recipes! From preparing them on TV to seeing how you’ve interpreted the dishes at home and sent me pictures, it’s spectacular to see the response to these dishes and I’m confident some of the hits have included dishes like Vegetable Dumplings, my homemade Belgian Waffles, and desserts such as Molten Lava Chocolate Soufflé Cake and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars.
But it’s not over! Far from it, in fact. It’s been fun looking back on great memories, but now it’s time to shift the focus and look towards amazing new ones still to come! Around the corner are so many really extraordinary projects I can’t wait to share with you guys, from new forays on television to exclusive digital and web content; special videos that will turn your kitchen into your very own cooking school; and some other top-secret endeavors. One of them that isn’t top secret, though, is London! That’s the next stop on the tour as we go global and head overseas for an international adventure.
On the London menu: Live TV and radio, meet-n-greets with stellar British fans (can’t wait!), culinary destinations that I’ll spill the beans on soon enough, and, of course, irresistible afternoon tea. So keep it here on KewlBites for new recipes, blogs, and so much more coming your way. #StayTuned
Most importantly, I wanted to look back and look forward to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of my team or has been so generous with their support over these past few months. Releasing my first cookbook has definitely been the culmination of a dream I’ve had for a long time. I originally launched this website back in 2009 to share the techniques I discovered to lose fifteen pounds and regain my confidence and connection with health, but would never have imagined the excursion it has led me on, and most importantly, the empowering people I have met and motivation stories I have heard along the way. Now I can’t wait to see what together we do next.
